Dearest Florence… to you and your family, my deepest sympathy on the death of your beautiful Mom. We all loved Aunt Florence. When I was about to begin my teaching career, so many years ago, your mom had me over to Staten Island for a mini seminar, to help me to be ready for my very first class of First Graders. Her notes with lists of activities and things to do was an inspiration that helped me to be prepared for my first day of class. I happily retired after thirty-five joyful years of teaching, and not a September passed, in all those years, that I didn’t think of your mom and all of her good advice as I would begin a magical year with another group of students. Love and blessings always to you and your precious family..

Mrs. Henderson with her sheer decency, her devotion to her daughter since 1956, her love for son-in-law since 1977 and her successful completion of her mission to see that her grandchildren would grow up to to be strong, intelligent people made this woman so special. She had a positive effect on my life and was a key member of my second family, the Van Vorsts. Bayonne, Staten Island and Greenville were so lucky to have her as a resident. Farewell

Aunt Florence was a treasure, and my grandfather always, very fondly refereed to her as “My sister Florence”. I’m so thrilled they will be reunited in heaven.
